Indicator 8.10.1: (a) Number of commercial bank branches per 100,000 adults and (b) number of automated teller machines (ATMs) per 100,000 adults

Experimental work is currently being carried out for this indicator, in collaboration with our Data Science Campus. This work is looking at analysing the coverage of ATM’s in the UK, to determine if certain populations have differing access to financial services, in line with the UK’s commitment to ‘leave no one behind’.

Automated teller machines are computerized telecommunications devices that provide clients of a financial institution with access to financial transactions in a public place.
